Robert Cialdini is someone I have followed for years now. His book “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” was first published in 1984. I think a few people might have started to learn about Robert Cialdini at that point but his big hit came later and the internet definitely fueled his popularity. I also purchased an audio of Robert Cialdini speaking at Stanford which is excellent and has new information but it also gives you insight into Cialdini’s personality and skills as a speaker.
Robert Cialdini is The Master of Influence
As far as I’m concerned Robert Cialdini is the master of influence and its not that he discovered these techniques first but he was the first to break them down so they could be used effectively. Some of the big internet stars who use his techniques and rework them into packages they sell for thousands of dollars are Frank Kern and Jeff Walker. Also conversion optimization is really based on many of the principles that Cialdini has written and lectured about over the years.
